In my previous career as a West Point graduate and U.S. Army Officer, I learned that "good enough" is a dangerous mindset. Whether leading teams through three deployments to Afghanistan or managing complex logistics, the standard you set defines the outcome.

The Turning Point: Why Reliability Matters

My perspective on quality was permanently reshaped by a single event. During a parachute training exercise, a gear failure led to a hard landing and a life-changing injury. It resulted in my medical retirement from the Army, but it left me with an obsession: Reliability is everything.

When equipment fails in the field, the consequences are severe. When "equipment" fails in your home—like a cabinet shelf sagging under the weight of your dishes or a hinge tearing out of cheap particle board—it’s more than an inconvenience. It’s a failure of the product to do its one job.

Most big-box retailers sell cabinets made of "sawdust and glue." I’ve seen what happens when you trust inferior materials. That’s why we refuse to sell anything less than 100% plywood construction.
